You made a respectable effort to lead the conversation, it just didn't flow as smoothly as it could have if you'd injected more fun and specificity into it.
Her long responses show that she's interested to talk to you, and you clearly have a lot in common (two nerdy grad school science researchers). Her last response had a "yeah" in it. You should assume she's interested and keep moving this forward.
You can say something like:
Ah ok, send me any study materials ahead of time and I'll come prepared.
